Now-Feb. 24 The SE fine arts department will host the Lipan Urban Residency in Dance. Professional dancers and musicians Gabriel and Julie Bata will perform at various times. The workshops will feature West African Dance, Capoeira Angola and Haitian dance. Now-Feb. 25 SE Campus is hosting Studio Focus: Dana Ferrara in Art Corridor I in the ESEC Wing. Now-March 2 South Campus has works by Texas artist Gerald Lopez on display in the Carillon Gallery in the Joe B. Rushing Performing Arts Center. Now-March 31 SE Campus is hosting Ya Casi: Paintings by Erika Duque in Art Corridor II. The gallery is exhibiting paintings of TCU Master of Fine Arts candidate Erika Duque. Feb. 22-24 The SE drama program will present a Ten-Minute Play Festival 7:30-9 p.m. in the C.A. Roberson Theatre. An extra 1:30 p.m. matinee will be on the 24th. The festival will feature 10-minute plays written by TCC students Kristen Lee and Carlos Romero. General admission is $6 while children 17 and younger and seniors 65 and older are $3. Feb. 24 The SE fine arts department will host the American College Dance Festival Showcase 1-1:30 p.m. in the Dance Studio. Feb. 27-March 29 NW Campus will display the TCC NW Faculty Invitational art exhibit in the Lake-view Gallery (WFAB 1135A). The exhibit will feature ceramics, drawings, photography, sculptures and mixed-media art pieces created by NW faculty. The exhibit will be open during regular campus hours. Feb. 28 The NW visual arts department invites students and faculty to the Ceramics Studio (WFAB 1147) for the Raku Extravaganza. Participants can experiment with raku ceramic firing techniques. March 1-4 NE Campus’ drama program will perform Hamlet in the NE theater (NFAB 1205). The play is a tragedy that explores many ideas by using the characters to bring the audience through the universal trials of the human condition. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday with a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee. Admission for the production is free for TCC students, faculty and staff, $3 for non-TCC students and senior citizens and $6 for the general public. A free outreach performance will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the NE Playhouse (NFAB 1205) and is open to TCC and high school students. March 3-4 After several performances for elementary schools, the NW Campus drama program will have two performances of Miss Nelson is Missing! for the public. Miss Nelson’s misbehaving class begins to worry when their kind-hearted teacher goes missing and is replaced by an appalling substitute teacher. Public performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday in Theatre Northwest (WTLO 1108). Admission for the production is free for TCC students, faculty and staff, $3 for non-TCC students and senior citizens and $6 for the general public.
