The race will begin at Trinity Trails in Fort Worth, a flat, steady trail, and end at the zero-mile marker of Trinity Trails (behind TR Campus near Haws Recreation Center and the Fort Worth Fire Training Center).

“We are encouraging walkers and runners of all abilities,” said sponsor Barbara Hester. “The event will include music, food and family-friendly activities. The course is relatively flat and friendly for beginners.”

The walk/run will result in awards for the top overall finishers and top age group finishers. The campus with the highest number of registrations will also receive recognition. TCC’s mascot Toro will be there cheering on all participants.

Runners/walkers can choose to participate in one-mile, 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles) races during the event. Training plans for beginners and experienced runners will be available prior to the event.

“Our CELT [Chancellor’s Executive Leadership Team] members are currently collecting funds to sponsor some student registrations, so we will have some paid registration slots open in the next couple of weeks,” Hester said.

Pre-registration and fee entry is available until Nov. 1, but regular registration and entry fees will be available on race day.

Pre-registration entry fees for the one-mile Fun Run are $10, and the 5K/10K runs are $15 for students, $20 for staff and $25 for others. The day of the race, all registrations will be $30.

Race day registration begins at 6:30 a.m. behind TR Campus down the hill from Haws Recreation Center.

All proceeds will go to TCC’s foundation and wellness fund.

Participants will receive a Toro Dash shirt. Free parking will be available in the TR parking garage.
