“New deadlines, meningitis law lower TCC enrollment”
I was extremely disappointed with the sensationalism of this title to our Collegian newspaper.
After reading the article, “Ximenez thinks the new law on meningitis …” and “… but we only have anecdotal information” and “Ximenez pointed to the new deadlines for enrollment as a major reason why enrollment was down.”
If college has taught me anything, it’s to read the fine print and to not take things at face value.
If you really want to report truth, how about exploring the truth that most of the TCC students received emails that their federal funding was pulled for one reason or another and that we had to wait about seven hours, being ushered from financial aid office to our counselor’s office, back again to FA office to get reinstated. THAT may be worth researching and reporting on.
Keep up the good work the majority of the time, but stick to the facts.
