A Health and Disability Fair will last 10 a.m.-1 p.m. March 6 in WSTU 1303 on NW Campus.
Health screenings will be available to students to measure blood pressure, body mass index and glucose level.
“We decided to join forces so we could service different kinds of students,” NW health services coordinator Thoy Fongsamouth said. “We wanted to make sure we covered as broad as we could because we have all kinds of students with different needs.”
The Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, the Learning Center of North Texas, the American Red Cross Learning Center and the Vet Center will be at the fair, offering disability services and support to students.
“We’re just trying to get students with disabilities exposed to these organizations to create that community relationship as well,” NW disability services coordinator William Smith said.
“We have a lot of students not aware of the resources available to them.”
