SE success center to cater to new students, features games, prizes

The SE Campus success center wants to get its name out to the masses through an upcoming event called Meet Your Success Coach.

The event takes place twice a semester to help accommodate students who are new to the campus in the second eight-week minimester.

The student success center sets up its table in the Commons and then invites students to play games like Jeopardy.

“We ask questions to see if students know what we’re here for,” SE success coach Janell Oliphant said.

Most of the games will be geared toward the various services the success center provides with a raffle and prizes awarded to students.

Students can also get a flier that will let them know about the series of talks that the success center puts together over the semester.

“We want them to learn financial responsibility and how to communicate with teachers,” Oliphant said. “Communication with professors is key.”

Meet Your Success Coach will take place 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Commons.
