Spring break is just a few days away, and while some have the privilege of traveling to the coast, many TCC students and staff are stuck at home with a schoolless week to burn.
NW student Michael Hackney said he will stay home most of the spring break and plans on taking advantage of the sunshine.
“I will go longboarding a lot,” he said of his plans. “I also feel like there are a lot of parks around here. Eagle Mountain Lake is not too far, so going over there, especially if it’s nice out, would be perfect. I’ll probably do that a few times.”
Museum visits are a prevalent spring destination for those not traveling anywhere but who still want to leave the house.
South Campus library assistant Virginia Cross said visiting the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth would be fun, and Byron Hurt, who is also a South Campus library assistant, suggested the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas.
South Student Government Association president Austin Perotti is undecided about his spring break plans but recommends getting frozen yogurt at Montgomery Plaza in Fort Worth with friends.
NW student Victor Valles said he will stay at home for spring break and probably work throughout the week but will be grateful if he has some free time.
“If I had a day off, I would fill up my [gas] tank and just go for a ride,” he said.
Clint Haggard, also a NW student, said he is looking forward to attending the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dallas but doesn’t have an agenda planned for the week.
“I’ll be playing the rest by ear,” he said.
