The SE Sociology and Psychology Club will host the second annual Psychology Championship. The tournament has a preliminary and championship round in which students can win a first-place prize of $500. The tournament is open to all currently enrolled students. To take the preliminary test, students must bring their TCC ID along with their spring schedule 1-5 p.m. in ESEE 1304. During the preliminary round, contestants will have 60 minutes to answer 50 psychology questions. The top 16 scores will move on to the championship round April 26. She will provide students with tips to help calm nerves so they can tap into what they know for the test rather than how they feel about it. The Silent Epidemic of Youth Suicide will be presented 5:30-6:50 p.m. in the North Ballroom on SE Campus. Suicide is the second-leading cause of death for college-aged youth. Each week in the U.S., more than 100 young people die from suicide. Presenter Michele Faith will help students understand the facts, risk factors and warning signs associated with youth suicide. The Turning Point Conference, a weeklong series of workshops and performances that focus on change, diversity and the pursuit of passion, will be held on NW Campus. The conference will begin with an Earth Day celebration 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on April 22 outside of WSTU 1303 and will have activities, food and tree planting. Students must register in advance. To join the drive, individuals can register 9 a.m.–1 p.m. outside the Student Center during the International Festival. Donors need to be between 18 and 44 and pass health guidelines. Donations of $10 can be made by texting “Match 018” to 50555. Every $100 raised helps add another member to the registry.
