Now-April 19 The South Visions Unlimited program and social sciences department will sponsor Every Vote Counts 12:30-2 p.m. on the SSTU patio. They also will host a weeklong voter registration drive. To kick off the registration, South Campus president Peter Jordan, who recently relocated to Texas, will be the first voter registrant. Student development and continuing education will provide food, entertainment and ESL services.
Now-April 21 Registration continues for Nutrition Rocks Camp, an educational health camp for second- to sixth-grade children. The SE student dietetic organization will host the camp 9 a.m.-1 p.m. April 21 on SE Campus. April 18 South Campus English department and Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society are hosting the annual Jazz Jam/Poetry Slam at 6 p.m. in the South Campus Recital Hall. Participants should sign up in advance at SFOA 1623. Participants need three original poems, one for each round of the competition. The top three places in two prize categories —TCC participants and non-TCC participants — will receive an Amazon.com gift card. Open to anyone, the slam is free.

April 20 Earth Day will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in the ESCT Bistro on SE Campus. Students are invited to come make a “cup o’ dirt” and enjoy a sweet treat.
April 20 TR American Sign Language Club movie night features Ingelgore, a film that gives the perspective of the Holocaust through the eyes of a deaf Jewish girl. The show starts at 7 p.m. in the Energy Room (TRTR 4008).
April 20 South government associate professor Wanda Hill will give an off-campus mini-lecture and provide voter registration at 1 p.m. at Day Resource Center at 1415 E. Lancaster, Fort Worth. Hill will lecture about educating, empowering and registering the Tarrant County homeless. After the lecture, those who register to vote will receive a box lunch.
April 21 South’s Every Vote Counts will wrap up the weeklong voter registration events 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with registration near the back of the Rotunda.
