NE to offer dance class for alternative workout

A dance workshop will be held 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 19 on NE Campus.

“It is a Saturday Sessions event, which complements intramurals,” said NE continuing education physical education coordinator Kim Kerby-Dickman. “And it’s a chance to let people know about classes they might not know we have.”

The dance class is available for both experienced and novice dancers, she said.

“The classes are dance-oriented,” she said. “But even if you’re not a good dancer, it’s still a good workout.”

The first hour of the class is set to Latin music and centers around conditioning and core work. The second hour is to hip-hop music and is more cardio-oriented, Kerby-Dickman said.

“Whoever comes doesn’t have to stay for both hours,” she said. “And they can use the classes as workout credit.”

The classes will take place in NHPE 2105. Sign-ups will start 15 minutes before the class begins and is open to students, faculty and staff on NE Campus.
