“The intention of the workshops is to offer as much access to the drama club for students as possible,” Gale said.
The workshops are free and open to all students, but an RSVP is required.
The first workshop, Improv Performance, will be presented 9 a.m.-noon by Rawley, executive and artistic director and instructor for The Alternative Comedy Theater in Dallas.
The second workshop, How to Audition Well and How to Audition When Transferring, will be presented 1-3 p.m. by Baldwin, a Dallas/Fort Worth area actor and director.
Delta Psi Omega will host an induction ceremony and lunch from noon to 1 p.m.
This is the club’s first time to offer these kinds of workshops, Gale said. The club hopes the workshops will be a way for people who are interested in theatrical arts to get together.
“The Delta Psi Omega club is actually an academic fraternity,” she said. “Belonging to it will allow members who transfer from two-year to four-year universities to plug in after transferring.”
Those interested in becoming members of Delta Psi Omega need to bring $15 in cash or check for annual dues and 12 lines of Shakespeare (preferably memorized) to recite.
