As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, South Campus will feature Latinos in Media 11 a.m. Oct. 7 in the Rotunda Auditorium.
Academic advisor Noel Garcia has invited Fox 4 News reporter Saul Garza and WFAA reporter Monika Diaz to address today’s job opportunities in the broadcast field.
Garcia said he was looking for a connection between the business community and TCC.
Since TCC has a radio/TV/broadcast program on NE Campus, Garcia thought having the pair speak would draw attention to TCC’s program and provide an opportunity for students to benefit from their knowledge and experiences in the field.
He said he hopes the influence of Garza’s and Diaz’s success will extend beyond racial boundaries.
Garcia also said it is important to have Latin influences in the media. Media is a “vehicle into the communities and creates awareness,” he said.
