The Center for Leadership Development presents its Eighth Leadership eXperience Summit — Leading Change, Understanding Difference from 12:45 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in the TRTR Energy Auditorium on TR Campus.
With free admission to the public, TR offers the program to “developing 21st century leaders,” said Victoria Burson, student development associate for TR student activities.
“This hallmark, one of the seven hallmarks at the TR Campus, is used as a tool to enlighten and engage the public to empower them for leadership development,” she said.
The summit’s keynote speech will be presented by Dr. Danna Diaz, who will talk about how she turned from a gang member to a teacher and community leader.
“Diaz has done a lot at TR,” Burson said.
A director of student engagement and school completion for the Fort Worth Independent School District, Diaz has worked in the public school system for more than 20 years.
She also serves as an adjunct instructor of education on South Campus.
Diaz plans to discuss her diverse background and work with students of color and dominant cultures.
