HPE instructor Kim Kerby-Dickman will hold one of a series of NE Campus Saturday sessions Oct. 16 at the NHPE pool.
The free two-hour “water games” activities will include kayaking, snorkeling, water polo and water volleyball.
“This is the second semester we have held the Saturday sessions, and we’ve had a good amount of interest so far,” she said.
One of the main reasons for creating the Saturday sessions was to increase interest in HPE classes as well as push for more HPE classes overall, Kerby-Dickman said.
“Right now, it’s somewhat limited as to what students are able to take if they want to be in an HPE class,” she said. “For example, we only have one swimming class here in the evening and one tennis class at noon. I would like to see more students be able to enroll in these classes.”
The water games will be open to all TCC students, including continuing education students and faculty. Anyone who would like to participate in any Saturday session must register by 11:45 a.m. the day of the event.
Upcoming Saturday sessions will include a racquetball and tennis tournament Oct. 30 and a Zumba and hip-hop event Nov. 13.
All sessions will be held by HPE faculty with expertise in that area.
