It’s not the NFL playoffs, but don’t tell that to the students who played in SE Campus’ flag football tournament Oct. 16.

Eight teams played in the Oct. 23 games. Teams will play the next three weeks before the campus tournament begins.

Last year’s flag football champs AK defeated I Work 24-12. DND defeated So Icy in a lopsided victory 40-14. DND player Chris Riley contributed two touchdowns.

“We have a good team this year, so I like our chances to win this tournament,” he said.

America’s Team defeated M.O.B. 24-12. Mendel Folefac who played for America’s Team said he liked the chemistry of his team.

“The teamwork is the key to victory,” he said. “We need to have better coverage and to make better stops. Once you know each other, everything is good.”

TB defeated Unknown in a slapdash 14-8 victory. TB’s quarterback Rolando Emiliano said his team was inconsistent throughout the game.

“We played sloppy, but it feels good to pull out a win,” he said. “We played some good defense, especially without our best guy.”

Flag football continues on SE Campus Oct. 23.
