The Muscle Memory Dance Theatre presents an evening of dance works at 8 p.m. Oct. 22 and 23.
NW Campus associate professor of dance Amy Sleigh’s own professional modern dance company is producing the event.
The dance production is a benefit for the support of Genesis, a Dallas women’s shelter.
The show will be at Life in Deep Ellum, Arts Event Space in Dallas. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for students and seniors. A reception will follow the Oct. 23 performance.
Black Is the Color of That Kettle is a collection of dance works choreographed by the Muscle Memory Dance Theatre company members. Guest choreographers will participate in the event as well.
This series of dances for and about women is dedicated to the work in supporting the broken woman, Sleigh said.
Three TCC faculty members are working for the event. Sleigh, the co-artistic director of Muscle Memory Dance Theatre, said she will perform a solo work titled “It’s All W’s Fault, Goodbye, Mr. Soandso.”
NE Campus dance professor Linda Quinn choreographed an original work called “I Loved Me.” Ten members of the Mover’s Unlimited Dance Company, a NE student dance ensemble, will perform the piece.
Adjunct NE and SE instructor Bethany Nelson will present a work she choreographed, “Copiah County.”
