The Elvis Presley Love Me Tender: The Love Songs album is just as it says: all about love songs.
Despite tragedies in Elvis’ life, his memory still lives strong through his musical talents. This new album is an example of that.
It’s nothing but Elvis’ classical love songs that take listeners back to the poodle skirts and carhops era.
“Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” is definitely the best song on this album because of its sweet, slow melody and touching lyrics. “Take my hand. Take my whole life too, for I can’t help falling in love with you” would definitely win over any girl.
“Are You Lonesome Tonight?” is a different kind of love song. In the middle of the song, Elvis starts talking to his sweetheart and says, “I loved you at first glance.” The whole song is actually sort of tragic because his sweetheart was lying when she told him she loved him, but he still spills his heart to her.
Elvis always was the bad boy of early rock and roll. He was shaking things parents didn’t want their kids to see. Most parents hated him while the kids loved him. Yet whether an Elvis lover or an Elvis hater, this album speaks to the audience.
It brings the positive message of love that all of Elvis’ fans saw every time he sang. His songs said to love all you come in contact with for better or worse because love brings us all together in the end.
Love Me Tender is an album for the ages.
