Three NW staff members showcased all of the student activities offered and exposed students to the opportunities they offer.
Student activities associate Rachel McCloskey, student development assistant Latisha Kuykendall and student activities administrative assistant Betsy Bradshaw led the session.
McCloskey said four out of five students asked what had been their most memorable college experience to date said it was an out-of-class event. They pointed to a variety of clubs available, such as anime, disc golf, filmmaking, creative writing and fencing. Any student with an interest or hobby who cannot find such a club can get one. McCloskey said one full-time faculty member to sponsor the club and a few members are needed to get it started.
McCloskey emphasized the benefits of joining, saying it gives students a chance to “meet new people, gain work experience if you join the work study program or even learn about your career path.”
It is also the perfect way to branch out, make connections and gain networking experience, she said.
