Winning script can lead to play being staged

Student playwrights have the opportunity to see their work produced through the Trinity River Drama Club’s contest ending Oct. 1.

Contestants must submit a script between 12 and 15 pages long, and the script must run no longer than 15 minutes.

“This semester, we are being very supportive of all the arts,” said club president Aney Leos. “This playwright contest is just one thing out of several activities the Drama Club is offering.”

Ten students are working on scripts, and Leos is hoping for more entries. The winner of the contest will be announced Oct. 8.

“We will contact the winner, and he or she will get to direct the play,” she said. “It will be performed during our talent show in November.”

Scripts as well as further questions about the contest can be submitted to aney.leos@my.tccd.edu.
