Hispanic Heritage Month

Now-Oct. 14 SE Campus presents Lunes Hecho de la Diversión 8 a.m.-5 p.m. every Monday during Hispanic Heritage Month. Student activities will present a Hispanic heritage fact and highlight a fun phrase in Spanish. Prizes will be available for participants who repeat the phrase in Spanish to the student activities office located at ESCT 1201A. For more information, call student activities at 817-515-3595.

Now-Oct. 15 The SE library presents a Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit in the library (ESED 1200). The exhibit displays Hispanic history and heritage compiled by assistant professor of Spanish Ivan Miño. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Oct. 2 The Latino/Latina education forum will be on TR Campus 1-2:30 p.m. in the Energy Auditorium (TRTR 4008). The forum will highlight opportunities and challenges within the educational experience of Latinos and Latinas locally and nationally. Forum speakers will include Enrique Aleman Jr., associate professor of educational leadership and policy at the University of Utah. Oct. 4 SE student activities and the Organization of Latin Americans present the movie A Better Life, the story of a gardener in Los Angeles and his teenage son. The event is free, and food will be provided. For more information, call student activities at 817-515-3595.
