NE Fall Fest celebration brings recruiters, prizes

Students can say goodbye to summer and welcome the new season at Fall Fest Oct. 30 on NE Campus.

Fall Fest is when students learn about different resources on campus such as career services, student clubs and organizations.

Military recruiters will speak with students about careers. The U.S. Army will make dog tags. Marine recruiters will bring their famous pull-up bar, and the Navy also will have a few activities available.

Several universities have confirmed their participation in Fall Fest and will have representatives speaking to students about transfer opportunities. Some participating universities include the University of North Texas, Texas Tech University, Dallas Baptist University and Tarleton State University.

A drawing will be held for a student admission fee for the Toro Dash and a voucher for a book at the bookstore.

Students interested in participating in the raffle should visit the student activities desk at Fall Fest.

More than 60 clubs will have members present to talk to and recruit students.

Phi Theta Kappa will have members to speak with students about collegefish.org, an online tool that can help make the transfer process to a four-year university a bit easier.

Different types of activities are planned for students, such as pine-cone decorating, face painting and pumpkin decorating.

Mishuna MacDonald with student activities said the department found “things that will be beneficial for students and things that they would like to see.”

No entry fee is required for Fall Fest, which will be held at the Chessboard area (or NSTU 1615A if inclement weather) from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
