Now-March 29 TR Campus will display a poster gallery of influential women in the world today on TRTR Main Street. Now-March 31 NE Campus is taking donations for local women’s centers. Requested items include flash drives, canvas bags, résumé paper, office supplies, reading glasses, clothing, journals, sketch books, flip-flops, colored tissue paper and Clorox wipes. Labeled donation boxes are located throughout campus.

March 7 The Five Top Myths about HPV will be presented by Marcy Paul, project coordinator for the Center for Community Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Galley (NSTU 1506A) on NE Campus. March 8 TR Riverfront Café presents TCC student and singer/songwriter Hilary Tips, who will perform contemporary and pop folk songs 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
March 9 The NE Women’s History Month Committee will show The Motherhood Manifesto 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. in the Heritage Room (NLIB 1129). The film examines the struggles of working mothers and their families in contemporary American society. A brief discussion will follow the film. Attendees should bring their own lunch.
March 19 The South Campus Young Women’s Leadership Track program will host An Empowered Life Is a Healthy Life in the SSTU Texas Room 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. with community health leader Judith Dillard.
March 19-30 As part of Women’s History Month, 50 Remarkable Women will be exhibited in Art Corridor III on SE Campus. The display will feature 50 framed portraits with descriptions of well-known and not-so-well-known women who have influenced society.

March 21 Speaker Meg Hacker with the National Archives presents Marriage Cost Me My Citizenship 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Center Corner (NSTU 1615A). Hacker will discuss how American women in the 1940s who married Asian men had their citizenship revoked and became stateless persons. March 23 South Campus will offer Celebration of Women’s Achievements, a noncredit course, 5-9 p.m. in SACB 1210. The DVD series A History of Women’s Achievements in America will examine stories of those who have shaped history for women. The course is free, and a certificate will be awarded. Students can register online through continuing education on WebAdvisor under the course GENX-1033 Women’s History Month. Registration is also available at the event.
March 24 TR Campus hosts Storytime for Kids at the plaza and Riverfront Café 10 a.m.–noon. The event, for children ages 2-10, is centered around the theme of Women’s History Month. The program begins with storytelling, and afterward, children can participate in a variety of craft activities. Families are welcome to enjoy this opportunity to have fun with their children.
March 27 A mobile mammogram truck will offer free mammograms on the South Campus parking lot 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The mammograms will focus on women 35 and older who need assistance in obtaining tests. March 31 South Campus will host the 11th annual Women’s Symposium Back to Basics: Surviving the Jungle of Life in the SSTU Living Room and Cafeteria 8:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Judge Bobbie Edmonds will present What Every Woman Needs to Know about the Law. A panel will discuss Get the Facts on Domestic Violence. The symposium is a free educational and interdisciplinary event featuring more than 35 vendors and displays.
