The musical sounds of The Carnival of the Animals can be heard at 10 a.m. Nov. 21 in NE Campus’ College Hall.

“A Mid-Cities music lover’s club meets once a month on Thursday who are friends of the TCC music department,” said NE music chair Karen Parsons.

Each February, the Sonata Club sponsors a piano-duet festival by NE music students.

“They have given scholarships to our students every year since 2004,” Parsons said.

During the November club meeting, Parsons and her husband, Doug, will perform Saint-Saens’ The Carnival of The Animals, a 14-movement orchestral arrangement. Eric Devlin, a Shakespearean actor and NE English chair, will read a poem by Ogden Nash, written specifically for the Saint-Saens piece.
