Music:

Nov. 20 The NE music department will present a Guitar Ensemble concert at 7:30 p.m. in Center Corner (NSTU 1615A).

Nov. 21 The Sonata Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. in College Hall (NCAB 1111) on NE Campus. Pianists Doug and Karen Parsons will perform Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals, and English professor Eric Devlin will read an Ogden Nash poem written for the musical piece. Dec. 3 The NE Campus Collegiate Chorale, Chamber Singers and Community Chorus will blend for a winter concert at 7:30 p.m. at Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst. The choirs are under the direction of music assistant professor Bobbie Douglass. For more information, email bobbie.douglass@tccd.edu.

Theater:

Nov. 20-23 The SE drama program will present its performance of Almost, Maine, which will be partially directed by a student and a faculty member. In Almost, Maine, a town that’s so far north it’s almost in Canada, the residents find themselves falling in and out of love. This production will be the first student-directed play for SE Campus. Admission is free for TCC students, faculty and staff, $3 for children, other students with IDs and seniors and $6 for the general public. Nov. 26 The SE drama program will hold auditions for the spring 2014 musical The Wiz 2:30-7 p.m. in the Black Box Studio Theater (ESEE 1316). Dec. 4-7 NE drama will present Sam Shepard’s Fool for Love at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday in the NFAB theater. The play tells the story of Eddie and May, star-crossed lovers hopelessly drawn together but torn apart by a dark secret. Tickets are free for TCC students, faculty and staff, $3 for other students and senior citizens and $6 for the general public. To reserve tickets, call the NE box office at 817-515-6687.

Dec. 4-8 Theatre Northwest presents Bertolt Brecht’s The Good Woman of Szechwan, a musical about a humble prostitute living in Szechwan. The play examines the relationship between economic systems and the moral standards they produce. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4-7 and 2 p.m. Dec. 8. Admission is free for all TCC students, faculty and staff, $6 for the general public and $3 for other students and senior citizens. Dance:

Nov. 22 The Mosaic Dance Project is sponsoring Winter Extravaganza 7-9 p.m. in WSTU 1303. This dress-to-impress event will consist of family, friends, food and entertainment, and is free for ages 5-10 and $10 for ages 11 and up. Canned food items are welcome and will be donated to the Azle Community Caring Center. Proceeds will benefit the Mosaic Dance Project scholarship. Art:

Now-Nov. 22 Point of View 2013, an exhibition of photos by participants in the TCC Photography Study Abroad program, is on display in College Hall (NCAB 1111) on NE Campus. Images include scenes from various locations in France and Spain taken last summer and spring. The exhibit is open to the public during normal school operating hours.

Now-Dec. 7 The Four Walls: Four Works exhibit in the Lakeview Gallery on NW Campus features the original artwork of four students selected by a panel of jurors. Now-Dec. 12 Barnabaccio “A Retrospective” is on display in the Carillon Gallery on South Campus. This conceptual art exhibit will feature mixed media sculptures. The gallery, located in the Joe B. Special Events:

Nov. 22 The NW Campus visual arts department will present MadWoman, featuring Sarah Dooley, art supervisor at H4B Catapult. Having worked in the New York City and Philadelphia areas for more than 10 years, she will discuss her experiences in advertising. She will be in the WFAB studios area for a meet-and-greet 8:30-9:30 a.m. and in WFAB 1132 for an artist talk and Q&A 9:30-10:30 a.m. She will review portfolios 10:30-11 a.m. Pizza, snacks and drinks will be served starting at 11 a.m. All TCC students are invited to attend.

Dec. 5 The NE Campus Association of Potters and Sculptors will hold its annual holiday art sale 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the NSTU North Hallway. The artists will have numerous handmade, one-of-a kind items available at all price ranges.
