Campuses unite to train leaders

Student organization leaders from all four campuses can participate in a leadership forum Friday, Jan. 27, 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

David A. Kelly, recognized by some as America’s student leadership trainer, will lead the seminar for campus leaders.

Students from NE Campus will meet in the Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) at 11:15 a.m. for the retreat being held off campus. Students from the other campuses will have to contact the student activities office on their campus for meeting times and locations.

Issues for discussion include recruiting tactics and ways to retain current members.

Kelly has a method known as the five R’s: responsibility, rules, rewards, role and relationships. The method is geared toward giving everyone in a group a purpose and a sense of ownership and belonging.

Lunch will be provided.

Student leaders wanting to attend can contact student activities.
