Pathway to Freedom, a traveling history exhibit, continues its tour of the district.
The traveling exhibit, sponsored by the International Exchange Group and district student activities, comprises 32 pieces of art including sculptures and paintings.
The display illustrates the history of black people in America from the Underground Railroad through the Civil Rights Movement to today. Similarly, an additional exhibit, Trail of Tears, highlights the plight of Native Americans through art and sculpture.
According to the IEG, the exhibit serves as a reminder of the pain, sacrifice and legacy of the men and women of who undertook the dangers of the Underground Railroad and the Civil Rights Movement.
The exhibit wraps up its stay on NW Campus with a final viewing today from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in WSTU 1303-05.
Pathway’s next viewing will be on South Campus, Monday through Wednesday, Feb. 19-21, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. in SSTU 1112.
The final viewing of the exhibit will be on SE Campus, Thursday, Feb. 22, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 23, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in the ESED Commons.
