CD Review-Will.i.am: Songs about Girls

Will.i.am Songs about Girls (3 stars)
williamWill.i.am’s solo album Songs about Girls might not be anything musically groundbreaking, but it is a fun listen.

Fortunately Will.i.am’s CD is overall better than Fergie’s The Duchess.

The album treads into the electronic, hip-hop and various other genres to bring an interesting, eclectic sound about his rocky journey with his ex.

“She’s a Star” is a mellow, but infectious tune and probably the best on the album.

Though the CD is entertaining, it is uneven, track-wise, which ultimately makes Songs about Girls unremarkable.

The first single, “I Got it From My Mama,” is a bit on the annoying side and uninspired.

Half of the tracks are worthy of a listen, such as “Heartbreaker,” “S.O.S. (Mother Nature),” but the rest are bothersome and too repetitive for comfort.

Songs about Girls is a good addition for Black Eyed Peas fans but for the average musical joe, it’s not worth the price tag.
