Expo to provide aid to entrepreneurs

The ninth annual Lockheed Martin/Chase Entrepreneur Expo offers educational and other opportunities for small DFW businesses Friday, Feb. 8, at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Geared toward business owners in all stages of development, the one-day exposition will offer more than 15 specialized seminars for those still at start-up phases through advanced growth, networking and procurement.

Early in the day, David Edmonds of TCC’s Small Business Development Center will present a seminar discussing the role planning plays in creating a successful business.

Sponsored by Frost Bank, the workshop is 8–9:10 a.m. The SBDC offers regular classes and workshops at the James E. Guinn Complex in Fort Worth. For more information, call 817-871-6028.

With the Expo expected to attract more than 2,500 attendees, the Exhibit Hall will be subdivided into nine areas.

Three new zones—opportunity, procurement and tech zones—will augment the returning business development, construction, cleaning, health, professional and retail zones from previous years.

With more than 70 co-sponsors including Entrepreneur magazine, NBC-5, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and American Airlines, the event is produced by the Fort Worth Business Assistance Center with the City of Fort Worth.

The FWBAC offers entrepreneurs a selection of business resources, such as training, workshops, and counseling, including classes geared to minority- and women-owned businesses.
