After graduating, college students need to try to present themselves in the best light possible for their future employers.
One method of doing so is with a portfolio of work, both professional and academic.
A career portfolio preparation presentation, Wednesday, Feb. 13, on South Campus, may be a good way to start the process.
Monica Bettle, South career center coordinator, will help students design a career portfolio to make a successful transition from student to professional in their field.
Bettle said she will show students how to put their best work and accomplishments into a portfolio that can be submitted during job interviews once they graduate. The work and accomplishments she suggests for the portfolio include resumes.
Even students who have already given past accomplishments, like resumes, to employers to better their chances for employment can benefit from this seminar, Bettle said.
“Students will do this more effectively after the presentation,” she said.
The presentation will be 1-2 p.m. in the SSTU Texas Room.
