NW, South teaching motorcycle basics, advanced techniques

By Chris Webb/nw news editor

Spring and its mild sunny weather are just around the corner, making now a great time to get a motorcycle license.

Continuing education on the NW and South campuses helps riders get certified through the Basic Rider course (MSTX 1040).

The class meets twice a week: Friday in a classroom, Saturday outside with the bike. The class provides the motorcycle and is run by instructors certified by DPS. Sign up is always open.

For those who already have a license, but want to improve, the Experienced Rider course (MSTX 1070) is available on NW Campus only.

The Experienced Rider course meets the first Saturday of each month. Those who complete the course can catch a break on their insurance.

The fee for either class is $180.

Anyone interested in getting a class M license or just brushing up on riding skills should contact NW Campus continuing education at 817-515-7758.
