Feb. 16 David Yeomans, professor emeritus at Texas Woman’s University, will discuss and perform examples from the Czech piano repertory covering 200 years 10-11 a.m. in College Hall (NCAB  1111) on NE Campus.

Feb. 16 Aubree-Anna will perform for Sammons Cabaret at the Sammons Center for the Arts in Dallas. The songstress, voted one of the 10 most beautiful women in Dallas in 2011 by D Magazine, will perform renditions of songs from The Great American Songbook. The performance is 8-10 p.m., doors open at 7:30 p.m., and seating is general admission. Ticket prices are $40 for regular tickets and $35 for center members. Feb. 21 A NW faculty jazz concert featuring Richard Powell on piano, Lou Carfa on bass, Joe Carpenter on drums and renowned saxophonist Mario Cruz will be held in the Recital Hall (WFAB 1105) at 7 p.m. The public concert is free.

Feb. 25 Chamber Music International will host Concert Four of its season at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church in Richardson. This concert includes pieces from Ludwig van Beethoven and Johann Sebastian Bach. The concert starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for seniors over 55 and $10 for students. Now-March 8 Peter Helms Feresten: My Mind Wanders to the South Side of Town is in SE Campus’ Art Corridor II. In a collection of photographs of Fort Worth’s south side, Feresten documented where he lived and the unfamiliar parts of Fort Worth with this unique accumulation of pictures. This exhibit is free and open to the public. The gallery hours are 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

Now-March 9 TR East Fork Gallery presents Jurni Rising, an exhibit composed of paintings, drawings and prints by artist Nicholas Parker. His work deals with a narrative progress and the development of characters, a girl named Jerusala and her guardian/avenger Jurni. The story holds biblical references and Asian graphic influences. Feb. 20-March 1 The Women in New Roles annual art show will be on display in the Joe B. Rushing Center for Performing Arts Carillon Gallery on South Campus. The exhibit includes works by present and former WINR students. A reception will be held 11:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m. Feb. 20 in the gallery.

Now-Feb. 19 Strawberries and Sonnets is onstage at the Pantagleize Theatre in Fort Worth. This Valentine’s Day musical tribute will include poetry and songs. General admission is $14. Now-Feb. 19 Take Me Out closes it run at Dallas’ Uptown Players. NE alumnus Lloyd Harvey stars in the show that explores themes of homophobia, discrimination, class and masculinity in sports. The play is recommended for adult audiences. The show runs 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Show prices range from $25 to $35. For tickets, call 214-219-2718.

Now-Feb. 25 Secrets of a Soccer Mom is at Circle Theatre in Fort Worth. The comedy about three mothers who learn true victory lies in understanding themselves includes strong language. Now-Feb. 26 Pretty Fire — A Play with Music is onstage at Jubilee Theatre in Fort Worth. This coming-of-age story about a little girl is told through stories from her premature birth to her first solo performance in her church’s choir. No children under 8 should attend this production. Now-Feb. 26 Dixie’s Tupperware Party is at the McDavid Studio at Bass Hall in Fort Worth. Dixie Longate is a Tupperware lady who left her family in their Alabama trailer to tour the country and sell Tupperware to the masses. Expect audience participation and free giveaways. This show contains adult content and is not suitable for children under 16. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Now-March 17 Disney’s Aladdin Jr. is onstage for Artie’s Playhouse at the Artisan Center Theater in Hurst. This stage adaptation of the hit film provides entertainment for all ages. The musical will be filled with mayhem, magic and flying carpet rides. Performances are 4:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. There will be 10 a.m. performances all week March 12-15. Tickets are $5. Now-March 18 Stage West Theatre in Fort Worth presents Sports Page. Larry Herold, playwright and former sports writer, takes a comic look at the Dallas Cowboys training camp in 1966. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets for Thursday and Sunday performances are $26 while tickets for Friday and Saturday performances are $30. Feb. 23-25 The South Campus theater program opens its spring season with The Piano Lesson by August Wilson. It depicts an African-American family grappling to survive in a world that doesn’t support it or its traditions. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. with no late seating. Reservations are not required. Tickets are free for TCC students, faculty and staff, $3 for other students and senior citizens and $6 for general public.

Feb. 24-March 11 Willy Wonka Jr. will open at Theatre Arlington. This all-youth musical is a stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and includes memorable songs including “Pure Imagination” and “The Candyman.” Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Feb. 29-March 3 NE Playhouse presents Richard III by William Shakespeare and directed by Stephen Thomas. This play is the story of English King Richard III, younger brother of Edward IV, and his malicious takeover of the English throne. Feb. 29-March 4 Miss Nelson is Missing!, opening on NW Campus, is based on the popular children’s book by Harry Allard and James Marshall. When Miss Nelson, a kind-hearted teacher, mysteriously disappears, her unruly students are left with a loathsome substitute teacher. Performance times are 10 a.m. Wednesday-Friday, 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday in Theatre Northwest (WTLO 1108). March 1-3 SE Campus will present God’s Favorite, a play by Neil Simon based on the biblical story of Job and his life and trials.
