Career services offers job assistance

The unemployed and recently graduated no longer need to spend hours thumbing through tiny newsprint for a job. The Tarrant County College District offers students and alumni career and employment assistance through the Career and Employment Services office.

Located on each campus, the CES assists students in locating full-time, part-time, off-campus, seasonal and on-campus employment. CES assists in placing students in jobs compatible with their career and educational goals. In addition to job placement, CES frequently sponsors job fairs on campus.

CES offices operate Job Resource Labs that allow students to search for career-related materials. The job-search information sessions include tips on salary negotiation, interview techniques, networking skills and resume writing.

Students can also search for jobs at the DFW Job Center kiosk featured on all four campuses. Updated daily, the Job Center can search specific categories, such as part-time temp, telemarketing and retail.

Students can receive one-to-one coaching on resume development, critiques and mock interviews, by appointment only.

To receive assistance from any of the Career and Employment Services centers, students must show a TCC ID card or proof of prior enrollment.
