Come out and peep at Peep’s Show, an art exhibition featuring works by NE Campus instructional associate Mark Penland, TCC graduate Christopher Blay and a dozen other home-grown artists.
The showing is one of many across the city for Fort Worth’s Gallery Night, a semi-annual event when art galleries and other venues across the area hold special events and parties showcasing their artists’ work.
Peep’s Show is the contribution of Metrognome, a non-profit organization of local artists and musicians, and is sponsored by Flora Brewer, owner of Lancaster Lofts, the site of the event, 1324 East Lancaster Ave.
Brewer said she is preparing to lease studio space to 10 carefully selected artists on the upper levels of the four-story loft and maintain a gallery on the lower level in the hope of creating a new arts district east of downtown Fort Worth.
The gallery will be open from noon to midnight Saturday, Sept. 8, and will have live music from Metrognome bands beginning at 7 p.m.
Scheduled to play the event is Denton’s Matthew and the Arrogant Sea, A Childlike Fear, Brooke Opie and Marcus Lawyer, producer of Top Secret … Shhh.
Most artwork will be available for purchase, and admission is free.
