MCT—One of the most interesting channels available on airwaves today is BBC America. This Americanized version of the famed British network allows Yanks to enjoy all that state-run television from across the pond has to offer.
Top Gear: Gear is really cool stuff. This show sticks to cars. So they drive really cool European cars in crazy test-drives.
Coupling: Think of it as Friends, only with better writing and more eccentric characters. Sarah Alexander is probably the sexiest blue-eyed blonde ever to grace the small screen.
MI-5: James Bond worked for MI-6. MI-5 is the domestic version of the anti-spy ministry. Whereas NCIS and the like rely on witty dialogue and ridiculous plots, MI-5 is serious, gritty and a little tough on the senses. It’s definitely more violent. Still the best spy drama on TV though. Oh, watch for Hugh Laurie to star in an upcoming production.
Life on Mars: A cop gets transported back to 1973 and he has no idea why. Is it a dream? Who cares? It’s interesting to watch. It’s definitely one the most original cop dramas ever.
Bromley High: Imagine South Park with girls as the leads and a willingness to be even more outrageous and you’ll get an inkling to what this cartoon has in store.
Torchwood: The first spin-off ever from Doctor Who. The series follows the adventures of a secret group that fights aliens and steals their technology. It’s kind of like X-Files.
Little Britain: Sketch comedy with bizarre characters. One ongoing sketch has a woman who still breast-feeds her adult son. Another has two cross dressers who wear 19th century gowns and expect to be treated like ladies even though one has a mustache. The best is the old lady who pees herself while talking to people.
