As a young person and even as an adult, few bonds are more influential than those of a mentor. For that reason, Women in New Roles and NE student activities will present Selecting a Mentor Who Will Guide You Through Your Future Thursday, Nov. 15./
Dr. Kathleen Noble, associate vice chancellor of continuing education services for the district, will discuss when a mentor is needed, how to become a mentor, how to mentor others, and how people can determine who they are as individuals.
Noble said being a mentor consists of being a good listener, committed and responsible. Currently, communities offer a variety of programs to suit everyone’s needs and busy schedules. The Women’s Leadership Forum will be 6:15-9 p.m. in the Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) on the NE Campus.
Noble’s responsibilities cover continuing education programs on all four campuses, including corporate and workforce services.
A college educator for 25 years, she earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Akron. When Noble was president of Aiken Technical College in South Carolina, the Central Savannah River Area Girl Scouts honored her with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
