SE music sets multiple events

If students aren’t leaving campus this semester to the tune of good grades, at least they will be able to exit to the tune of good music.

As part of a concert put together each semester by the SE music department, a trio of orchestrated events will be performed during the week leading up to finals.

On May 1, an ensemble of the band, orchestra, choir, jazz band and Madrigal Singers will begin performances at 7:30 p.m. in the North Ballroom.

“ The students have been practicing all semester for this concert and that involves class time of three hours a week,” Marion Nesvadba, SE associate professor of music, said.

In addition to Nesvadba, the directors of the respective groups include Dr. Greg Dewhirst and Mary Nesvadba.

A repeat of the concerts will be performed May 2 during the regularly scheduled class times of each group-—the band and orchestra at 10:40 a.m.; choir at noon; the Jazz Band and Madrigal Singers at 1 p.m.

All performances will be held in the North Ballroom.

On May 3 at 1 p.m., the TCC Singers will perform pop, country and jazz in the North Ballroom.

Each event is free and open to the general public.
