Police investigating NE Campus assault

By Steve Knight/managing editor

TCC Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on NE Campus Jan. 30.

The crime was not reported, but police later learned details of the incident.

The assault occurred between 9 and 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot south of the Multi-Purpose building.

Police say a TCC employee exited the building on the way to his vehicle when an unknown person hit him in the face with a solid object, possibly a brick.

Immediately after the incident, the suspect and another person who was further away fled the area.

The employee returned to the building but could not provide a description of the suspects.

Police believe the suspects intended to steal or damage property since they did not further injure or rob the employee.

Anyone who has information regarding this crime, or any other crime on campus, is asked to contact the TCC Police Campus Crime Watch Tips Line at 817-515-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous.

TCC Police asks employees to contact the police dispatch center when they will be on campus after closing and on weekends.
