Civic-minded individuals looking to make a difference and get some exercise can participate in the 17th annual AIDS Walk.

The Tarrant County AIDS Walk is Sunday, April 5. Registration begins at 1 p.m., and the walk starts at 2 p.m. outside the Fort Worth Community Arts Center at 1300 Gendy St.

The walk benefits the AIDS Outreach Center, which serves children, women and men infected with HIV/AIDS.

Participants can sign up as an individual with others to sponsor, or as a team captain with friends, family or co-workers.

They can also put together a team at work and get the company to match funds.

Donations are also accepted for those unable to walk. Donations can be sent online at www.aoc.org or www.firstgiving.com/aocwalk.

All proceeds from fundraising and corporate donations underwrite the programs and clients served by the AIDS Outreach Center.

For more information, contact the center at 817-335-1994.
