College life advice dished out at South seminar

By Lauren Kendrick/reporter

Many myths that cloud the minds of both new college students and soon-to-be college students can be put to rest with the South Campus seminar Myth Busters: Debunking Myths about College Life April 1.

Chris Carcerano, South Campus center for academic success coordinator, will present the workshop, part of College Student Success Seminars, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in SACD 1402.

This workshop is meant to be “a half-fun, half-informative seminar about student life,” he said.

Carcerano said these seminars, especially the “myth busters” session, are great for first-time college students, first-generation college students, high school students about to graduate and even students about to enter a four-year university.

Financial aid, time commitment, roommates and teaching differences are just some of the topics Carcerano will touch on. He also will discuss some of the biggest misconceptions that first-time college students have about entering a university or two-year college.

This event is free for anyone wanting to attend.
