SMU coach’s story inspires NW conference

Students can learn everything they want to know about love but were afraid to ask at The Love Conference workshops Thursday on NW Campus in WSTU 1303. Also, be prepared to listen to panels of experts talk about all aspects of love.

Students who plan to attend should register in the Student Center or online at www.theloveconference.com. However, students who cannot preregister can also sign up for workshop tickets Thursday in WSTU 1303.

The workshops will be broken down into three parts: Love of Self at 8:30 a.m., Love of Family/Friends, at 9:45 a.m. and Romantic Love at 11 a.m. Students can select from four workshops during each time frame. The conference will conclude with a keynote address at 12:30 p.m.

The Love Conference seminar was inspired by Jeff Reinebold, an assistant football coach for the SMU Mustangs, and Brian Kajiyama, one of his former students who has cerebral palsy. Reinebold will give the keynote speech.

Carol Hunsberger, speech instructor and conference coordinator, had seen the story about Reinebold and Kajiyama on a program on ESPN in October.

“After viewing the story, I knew that I needed to have Jeff speak to our TCC students about the importance of unconditional love,” she said.

Students can also visit www.theloveconference.com, created by NW Campus students, for a complete schedule of workshops and a registration link.
