Now-Aug. 28 NE Campus student activities is sponsoring Welcome Back Week 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the NTAB lobby. Information will be available about student organizations and upcoming events. Now-Aug. 29 TR Campus is having a variety of events going on for its First Week at TRC. Eating, socializing and getting to meet the president, vice presidents, deans and faculty are some of what is offered. For more information, contact student activities at 817-515-1190. 

Now-Aug. 29 The Women’s Center will present Jobs NOW Workshop, a two-week session free to students to help create resumes, look for jobs online and network 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the FEC Training Room/Demo Kitchen on South Campus. For more information, contact The Women’s Center at 817-927-4050.

Aug. 27 To welcome back students, the Veterans Association and student activities on SE Campus are serving hot dogs in the ESCT HUB 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Students can also learn how they can get involved on campus as well as about services provided for veterans. 

Aug. 27 TCC Police and the Family Empowerment Center will present Healthy Relationships 1-2 p.m. in the South Campus FEC Training Room 1738A. Aug. 28 Student activities wants students to find them. Anyone who can find them will earn a free soda and Smarties. The event is open to students, faculty and staff on SE Campus 1-2 p.m.

Aug. 28 NW student services will host Northwest Fest 2-6 p.m. in the WACB lobby. Student organizations will staff information booths to recruit members. 

Aug. 29 SE Campus is holding Feedback Fiesta 1-2 p.m. in the ESED Bistro. Students can come join with student activities to celebrate completing the first week of school. Refreshments will be provided.

Sept. 2-5 TR Campus will host Survival Week presented by the Discovery Center. This multi-day event will include workshops in math, science, reading and writing throughout the week. For more information, contact Stephanie Blakely, TR academic success center coordinator, at 817-515-1330.

Sept. 3 SE health services and Mental Health and Mental Retardation Street Outreach are teaming up for HIV testing on campus. Testing runs from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the health services office (ESEC 2115). 

Sept. 3 Health Services will sponsor an American Red Cross Blood Drive 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on the South Campus SSTU Patio. Donors should be healthy, weigh at least 110 pounds, be at least 17 years old, and have a photo ID. Walk-ins are welcome. Sept. 3 NE academic support services coordinator Jeanette Jacobs will present the Student Success Seminar: Navigating MyTCC and WebAdvisor 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) on NE Campus. Sept. 3 The Family Empowerment Center sponsored by Catholic Charities will present the first of nine free classes of Families First Free Parenting Classes in Spanish and English 9-11 a.m. in the SSTU Living Room on South Campus. Sept. 4 A workshop addressing the role personalities play in the workplace and in personal lives will take place 1-4 p.m. in Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) on NE Campus. The program counts as three hours toward continuing education units. Admission is $21 for professionals and free for students. Registration is preferred, and students can register on WebAdvisor. Sept. 6 The Family Empowerment Center in conjunction with the L. Clifford David Legal Association will present a free adult class in legal area 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the SSTU South Campus Student Center. Texas A&M P.L.A.Y. group will be on campus teaching age-appropriate information to children, so K-12 children are welcome. Sept. 9 NE Campus’ Student Leadership Academy will present Leadership Philosophy 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Galley (NSTU 1506). Sept. 9 NW health services will offer a CPR class 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in WTLO 4104C. The class fee is $15. Students who complete the course will receive Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association. Registration is required. Sept. 9 Free, confidential HIV and syphilis testing will be available 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in NE Campus health services (NSTU 1704A). Walk-ins are permitted on a first-come, first-served basis. Sept. 9-10 NW Campus will host a Student Success Conference 8 a.m.-noon in the WTLO lobby to improve student success and retention rates.
