Jan. 26 Texas Running Hall of Fame member Ed Swiatocha will speak about his career and offer advice for runners in Starting Out on the Right Foot 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) on NE Campus. Swiatocha is a two-time winner of the Dallas White Rock Marathon and winner of the Fort Worth Cowtown Marathon. He also qualified for the 1988 Olympic Trials. Jan. 27-29 Tarrant County College and West Texas A&M University will host the Texas Two Step Swing forensics tournament on NE. The competition will include acting, public speaking and debate events with participants from several states.
Jan. 30 NE faculty and students are invited to attend free Zumba classes. Zumba combines Latin and international music with dance to make exercise fun. Feb. 3-4 The TR Campus library will offer free Information Literacy classes 1-4 p.m. Feb. 3 and 9 a.m.-noon Feb. 4 in the Library Classroom (TREF 1302). This three-hour non-credit course is designed to help students find credible online resources and reference materials. The course is taught by professional librarians, and students will receive a certificate of completion after taking the class.
