NE students have two opportunities to learn about Guiding through Conflict March 5.
The topic will be discussed at 12:30 p.m. and at 6 p.m. in the Galley (NSTU 1506) on NE Campus. The speaker has yet to be determined.
According to the TCC student leadership website, the session is meant to cover ways to conquer different types of conflict on various levels. Its main goal is to “help students learn to recognize the importance of a leader’s role in guiding through conflict and identify practical approaches and techniques for doing so.”
Students in the Student Leadership Academy have been given the task of putting together events like these so their fellow students have something to do on campus and somewhere to turn if they ever need help, NE student Gregory Smith said.
“It helps bring awareness to things I would never know are going around campus,” he said. “It’s pretty cool to have an organization that can help me find these things out.”
Students new to TCC are encouraged by the student activities staff to attend this event as it will be one that is helpful to those entering a new environment. This year, TCC is focused on making sure its students are well-equipped and prepared to take on the semester.
“I personally would not be able to be a part of the student leadership group here on campus, but I like to know what is going on around campus so that if I have time to attend something with friends on campus, I can plan ahead,” Smith said.
