The chapter also received six international awards, including Most Distinguished Chapter and Distinguished Honors in Action.

NE students Dolline Men and Robbie Ghaziri both attended the convention, where 535 chapters attended from all over the world, and said the event was rewarding because of the people they met and the camaraderie they experienced.

“I gained a lot of leadership insight,” Ghaziri said.

PTK president Janjura Williams was proud of her fellow members and their hard work. She said her leadership term was challenging and, at times, frustrating, but that she feels stronger and more enlightened now.

“My team supported me endlessly,” Williams said. “I’ve grown tremendously because of Phi Theta Kappa and because of TCC.”
