Now-Nov. 13 TCC Connect representatives are visiting each campus to celebrate National Distance Learning Week 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Representatives will be on each campus a different day including NW Nov. 11 in the Student Center, South Nov. 12 in the Student Center and TR Nov. 13 in TRTR. There will be seminars over Success Strategies for Online Students on each campus. Now-Nov. 19 The NE National Honor Society in Psychology is holding a gently used or new books drive for W.T. Francisco Elementary School kindergarten-fifth grade children in Haltom City. Now-Dec. 4 The NE Student Ambassadors are collecting gloves, hats, scarves and other winter apparel for the women at children at Safehaven of Tarrant County. Boxes are in NSTU, NTAB, NFAC, NACB and NBSS.

Now-Dec. 8 The NE Future Teachers Club is sponsoring a donation drive for Alice Contrearas Elementary School in Fort Worth. School supplies and new or gently used children’s books can be placed in boxed in NBSS, NTAB, NSTU or NACB.

Nov. 11 The NW library will continue its Golden Jubilee Speaker Series 9 a.m.–5 p.m. in WTLO 3100. UNT digital humanities coordinator Spencer Keralis will speak 9-9:30 a.m. on the history of libraries. Refreshments will be provided.

Nov. 11 SE Campus will hold a Veterans Day observance in the Commons at 11 a.m. The observance will include the Veterans Association dedication of the Blue Star Memorial plaque. Contact student activities at 817-515-3103 for more information.

Nov. 11 SE Campus will dedicate its Blue Star memorial in observance of Veterans Day at 11 a.m. in the Commons.

Nov. 11 TR will honor veterans with a ceremony 10:45 a.m.-noon in the TR Rotunda. A veterans memorial wall will be on display listing the names of all of those fallen since Sept. 11, 2001. Student veterans will read the names of soldiers lost since Veterans Day in 2014. A wreath will be laid and Barack Obama’s Presidential Proclamation on Veteran’s Day read.

Nov. 12 TR students can network with local business professionals at Mock-tail Mingle 4-8 p.m. in the Riverfront Café. The event will begin with leadership and networking workshops followed by an hour to mingle and make connections. The goal is to create opportunities for mentoring and potential internship or employment positions. Students are encouraged to dress business casual and bring resumes or business cards if possible. Nov. 14 Trinity River on the Go will take students to visit Texas Wesleyan for Blue and Gold Day. Students interested in transferring can learn more about admission requirements and financial aid.
