Now-Oct. 13 SE Campus drama students are performing Our Country’s Good, a play about convicts and Royal Marines sent to Australia for the first penal colony in the 1780s. The play is for mature audiences only, so parental guidance is advised. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Friday in the C.A. Roberson Theatre. Now-Oct. 14 NW Campus drama department presents Getting Out by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman 7:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in Theatre Northwest (WTLO 1108). The dark drama tells the story of a young woman in search of a better life trying to adapt back into society after being released from prison. Identical twins will play the part of Arlene, the main character, at different ages. A reception will be held Oct. 14 with an opportunity to meet the cast. Tickets are $6 for general public, $3 for non-TCC students and seniors and free for TCC students, faculty and staff. Proceeds will benefit SafeHaven of Tarrant County. Oct. 10 The NE art department closes its clay art faculty exhibit in the library lobby including works of stoneware and ceramics. Hours are 7:45 a.m.-10 p.m.
Now-Oct. 24 The NE Art Association is sponsoring a zombie movie contest. Students are invited to submit movies three minutes or less. Students must pay a $10 entry fee for the contest, and the winning movie will receive half of all entry fees. The movies will be shown at a campus zombie party Oct. 29. Now-Jan. 20 The Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth presents Industrial Monuments: Photographs and Works on Paper from the Machine Age. The exhibition showcases photographs, drawings and prints of the American industrial landscape between the early 1910s to the late 1940s. Oct. 17 An artist lecture for Achieving the Dream: A Focus on the Arts will be given at 1 p.m. in the Commons across from SE Campus’ Roberson Theater. A related exhibit will focus on three works by artist Annette Lawrence, University of North Texas associate professor of painting/drawing, and will be displayed through Nov. 9.
Oct. 17-Nov. 10 SE Campus presents Architecture+Time: Measuring Space, an exhibition of kinetic designs, on display in Art Corridor II. An opening reception will be held 5-7 p.m. Oct. 18. Art Corridor II is open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. The designs were created by University of Texas at Arlington architecture students with UTA assistant professor of architecture Joshua Nason.

Oct. 20 Conversations in Rhythm, the district dance concert is onstage at the Carillon Theatre in the Rushing Center for Performing Arts on South Campus. The concert includes all four campus dance companies with pieces ranging from modern and ballet to hip-hop and aerial dance. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. with doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for general admission and free for all TCC students, faculty and staff. Oct. 11 For the second installment of monster movie night, SE Campus will show the classic horror film Plan Nine from Outer Space at 6 p.m. in the library. A zombie army is resurrected by aliens to save the universe from humans in this 1959 science fiction film directed by Ed Wood Jr. The film includes a final appearance by Bela Lugosi, and students are invited to judge whether Plan Nine from Outer Space is the worst film of all time. Popcorn and other refreshments will be provided.
Oct. 18 The SE Campus library will show The House on Haunted Hill at 6 p.m. as the third installment for its monster movie night for October. Vincent Price stars in this classic horror film where five strangers spend the night in a haunted mansion. Popcorn and other refreshments will be provided.
