Now-Feb. 28 The Photography Faculty and Staff Biennial Exhibit will be on display 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday in College Hall (NCAB 1111) on NE Campus. The exhibit is free and open to the public. A Feb. 13 artists’ reception for the exhibit will be 5-7:30 p.m. in College Hall.
Now-March 7 NE Campus’ art department presents Breathing Air Squeezing Clay in the J. Ardis Bell Library. The ceramics show includes work from advanced students in all ceramics classes. Students can meet the artists 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 8 in the library. The work is on display Monday-Sunday during library operating hours.
Now-Feb. 17 Bass Hall in Fort Worth presents Memphis, a thrilling award-winning musical about fame and forbidden love. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. Now-Feb. 24 Jubilee Theatre in Fort Worth presents Black Pearl Sings, a theatrical experience starring Liz Mikel as Alberta “Pearl” Johnson, a woman separated from her daughter when imprisoned for a crime of passion. Pearl’s voice rings through the halls of a Texas prison and inspires the fascination of a song collector. Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Feb. 15-24 The Fort Worth Community Arts Center will host the Stolen Shakespeare Guild, who will present The Winter’s Tale. One of Shakespeare’s last plays, it combines intensity and whimsy. Feb. 19 The TR Drama Club has put together a funny production for TR Campus students to enjoy. The Improvaganza will run 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Zone, (back of the Riverfront Café). Classic improv bits like Whose Line Is It Anyway? will accompany games that let the audience interact with the actors. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
Feb. 20-24 Theatre Northwest presents The Emperor’s New Clothes, the story of an emperor who orders two con artists posing as the finest weavers in the land to create a magical cloth that only the wise can see. Feb. 21-23 South Campus’ drama department will perform the August Wilson play Two Trains Running, which explores the radical changes that occur to the main characters as the ’60s reach an end. Feb. 21 The Sonata Club and the NE music department will co-host a Czech piano recital featuring pianist David Yeomans. The concert will showcase music that has had considerable influence on the more familiar composers of the 19th and 20th centuries.
