Students interested in maintaining a healthy heart can attend a NE Campus luncheon and presentation next Wednesday to find out which foods are best to eat.
Fuel for the Heart: Foods to Choose is 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the Galley (NSTU 1506).
Only 50 seats are available and spaces are filling up fast, Pat Marling, NE Campus coordinator of health services, said.
Therefore, it is necessary to R.S.V.P.
The speaker for the annual event is Pat Paprocki, clinical nurse coordinator of the cardiac rehabilitation program at Harris Methodist HEB Hospital. Paprocki has worked in various areas of critical care for 30 years, but specializes in coronary care.
In addition to listening to the speaker and being served a heart healthy lunch, students also will receive literature from the American Heart Association and a cookbook from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.
Students can call NE Campus health services at 817-515-6222 to make reservations.
