A handful of NE Campus students participated in the inaugural ultimate Frisbee contest Sept. 28.

Despite the small numbers, the few that gathered appeared eager to show off their skills.

NE Campus student Jonathan Huggins was one.

“ I’ve been interested in Frisbee for a year,” he said, “It’s like football, except with a Frisbee.”

The game, held on the football field behind the tennis courts, was played with two 3-on-3 teams, under 15 minute halves and to a total of 11 points.

Rudy Flores, NE Campus student, has a more extensive background in the relatively new sport.

“ I’ve been interested in it for three years,” he said. “Friends started calling me, inviting me to play.”

All NE players received prizes, which included Frisbees, towels and coozies.
