Students can learn how to plan for something far away like retirement when Andrew Warren, a financial advisor with AXA Advisors, speaks Feb. 17 on NE Campus.
Warren will present It’s Never Too Early to Plan Your Retirement from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Larry Darlage Center Corner (NSTU 1615A).
Warren will talk about why it is important to plan now, he said.
“The sooner the better, a lot of it has to do with the time value of money,” he said. “So if you if properly invest it, the further along, the more you have later.”
He also will discuss other money-related topics.
“The 529 college savings plans, we’ll touch on that. Those are savings plans designed for higher education. Mortgage is another issue. So when buying a house, what are the different choices — fixed, variable, 15-year, 30-year, the value of making an extra payment on a house?” he said.
Warren said he wants to see a lot of students there.
“It’s going to be a lot of good information,” he said. “Some of it you may have heard of, but probably most of it you haven’t.”
