The SE Campus drama department kicks off the spring semester with a production that promises to be wildly hilarious.
Rumors, by Neil Simon, will run in the SE Campus Roberson Theatre Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 23-25.
In the play, several upper class couples attend a dinner party sponsored by the New York City mayor.
Dinner never gets served. The mayor’s wife is missing, and the mayor has shot himself in the earlobe.
The first guests conspire to keep things quiet by creating a cover story, but chaos ensues because no one can keep his story straight as more guests arrive.
As the absurdity grows, the police are eventually called in to attempt to figure things out.
Simon, a Tony-award-winning playwright, has been writing plays and television scripts for more than 40 years. His most notable works include Barefoot in the Park, Lost in Yonkers, The Odd Couple and Biloxi Blues.
Rumors is rated PG-13. Evening performances are Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m. Matinees are Friday and Saturday at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for general admission, $3 for seniors and non-TCC students and free for TCC students, faculty and staff. To reserve tickets, call the box office at 817-515-3599.
